About the Number Base Converter
Convert an integer between binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal and base 36 simultaneously, powered by BigInt so arbitrarily large values work. Input accepts plain decimal, 0x, 0b and 0o prefixes, or bare letters read as hex. Binary output can be grouped in nibbles, and digits, bit length and parity are summarized.
How to use the Number Base Converter
- Type a number such as 255, 0xFF, 0b1010 or a large integer.
- Read the binary, octal, hexadecimal, decimal and base 36 outputs as you type.
- Toggle Group binary digits in 4s for readable bit patterns.
- Check the stats row for digit count, bit length and parity.
Number Base Converter FAQ
How large can the input be?
There is no practical limit — values are handled as JavaScript BigInt, so integers with hundreds of digits convert exactly, unlike tools that silently lose precision above Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER.
What input formats are accepted?
Plain decimal, 0x-prefixed hex, 0b-prefixed binary, 0o-prefixed octal, or any string containing letters, which is interpreted as hexadecimal.
Why is the binary grouped in fours?
Grouping nibbles maps directly onto hex digits — one group of four bits equals one hex character — which is why the option is on by default.
