TOTP Generator
2FA codes from base32 secrets (RFC 6238).
About the TOTP Generator
Generate two-factor authentication codes from base32 secrets following RFC 6238 โ the same TOTP standard behind Google Authenticator, Authy and 1Password. The six, seven or eight digit code refreshes every 15, 30 or 60 seconds with a countdown bar, and multiple accounts can be saved in your browser.
How to use the TOTP Generator
- Paste the base32 secret from your 2FA setup QR code.
- Pick the digit count and period your service specifies โ 6 digits and 30 seconds is standard.
- Click the large code to copy it before the countdown runs out.
- Use Save as account to store the secret locally for repeat use.
TOTP Generator FAQ
Where do I find the secret?
When setting up 2FA, most services show the QR code plus a plain base32 string like JBSWY3DPEHPK3PXP โ paste that rather than trying to scan the QR with this tool.
Do my saved secrets stay private?
Yes โ codes are computed locally and saved accounts live in your browser's local storage, never transmitted anywhere.
Why does my code get rejected?
Codes expire when the period ends and depend on correct device clock time; check that your clock is accurate, that digits and period match the service's settings, and that the secret was pasted without spaces.
