About the Line Tools

Bulk-edit lists line by line: number them with a configurable start and step, prepend a prefix, append a suffix, reverse the order, trim whitespace or squeeze runs of blank lines down to one. Numbering supports zero-padding so 1, 2, 3 align as 01, 02, 03 in fixed-width columns.

How to use the Line Tools

  1. Paste one item per line into the editor.
  2. Pick an operation: Number lines, Add prefix, Add suffix, Reverse, Trim or Squeeze blank lines.
  3. For numbering, set the Start and Step values and tick Zero-pad for aligned output.
  4. For prefixes, edit the Prefix field (the default adds a > quote marker).
  5. Copy the transformed list from the Result box.

Line Tools FAQ

How does line numbering count?

Lines are numbered from your Start value, increasing by Step each line โ€” start at 10 with step 5 to get 10., 15., 20. and so on, with optional zero-padding for alignment.

Can I quote a whole block for a forum?

Choose Add prefix and keep the default > text; every non-empty line is prefixed in a single pass.

What does squeeze do exactly?

It collapses multiple consecutive blank lines into a single blank line without removing all spacing, keeping paragraphs readable.
