About the GPA Calculator

Compute your grade point average on the 4.0 scale from any number of courses. Add each course with its credit hours and letter grade โ€” twelve grades from A+ down to F โ€” and the tool sums quality points weighted by credits. The computation is shown as an explicit formula so you can verify it against your transcript.

How to use the GPA Calculator

  1. Fill in a course name, its credit hours and its letter grade in the table.
  2. Press + Add course for each additional class.
  3. Remove mistakes with the โœ• button at the end of a row.
  4. Read the GPA, total credits and quality points, and the formula line showing the division.

GPA Calculator FAQ

Which grade scale is used?

A standard twelve-step scale: A+ and A at 4.0, Aโˆ’ 3.7, B+ 3.3, B 3.0, Bโˆ’ 2.7, down through C and D grades to F at 0.

How are credits weighted?

Each course contributes grade points ร— credits, and the GPA is that sum divided by total credits โ€” so a 4-credit A outweighs a 2-credit A in the average.

Can I include pass/fail courses?

No โ€” only lettered grades carry points. Leave such courses out, since most registrars exclude them from GPA calculations too.
