About the Remove Duplicate Lines

Feed it a list with repeated entries and get back only the first occurrence of each line, in the original order. Checkboxes let you trim surrounding whitespace and ignore letter case before comparing, so Item A and item a collapse into one. Counters show how many lines went in, came out and were removed.

How to use the Remove Duplicate Lines

  1. Paste your list, one entry per line, into the text area.
  2. Leave Trim whitespace before comparing enabled to treat padded and clean lines as the same.
  3. Enable Ignore case when capitalization differences should not create duplicates.
  4. Copy the result from the Unique lines box; the Duplicates removed counter tells you how many lines disappeared.

Remove Duplicate Lines FAQ

Does the order of my list change?

No. The first occurrence of every line keeps its original position, and later duplicates are simply dropped.

What does the trim option do exactly?

It strips leading and trailing spaces from each line before comparison, so lines that differ only by padding are treated as duplicates. The original line is what gets kept in the output.

Can it dedupe case-insensitively?

Yes, tick Ignore case and lines like Apple, APPLE and apple collapse to whichever appeared first.
