Text Diff
Compare two texts and highlight added and removed lines.
โ
The two texts are identical.
About the Text Diff
Compare two blocks of text line by line and see exactly what was added, removed or left unchanged. Differences are color coded with plus and minus markers, like a minimal code review. Options to ignore case or extra whitespace make it easy to spot real changes in copied documents, config files or drafts.
How to use the Text Diff
- Paste the original version into the left editor and the changed version into the right one.
- Tick Ignore case or Ignore extra whitespace if formatting noise is hiding the real edits.
- Read the Added lines, Removed lines and Unchanged counters above the result.
- Scan the highlighted output: green lines starting with + exist only in the second text, red lines with - only in the first.
Text Diff FAQ
Is there a size limit?
Yes. The diff engine handles up to 1200 lines per side; beyond that a warning appears instead of a truncated comparison.
Does it compare words or whole lines?
It compares whole lines. Two lines count as unchanged only when their normalized text matches, subject to your ignore-case and ignore-whitespace settings.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Both texts stay in your browser tab and the comparison runs locally in JavaScript.
