About the Image Resizer
Resize, compress and convert images right in the browser โ set exact pixel dimensions or scale by percentage, switch between JPEG, PNG and WebP, and tune the compression quality with a live preview and file-size readout. Ideal for shrinking screenshots and photos before uploading them.
How to use the Image Resizer
- Drop an image into the zone โ the original dimensions appear automatically.
- Enter a target width or height (the other side follows when the aspect ratio is locked), or use the 25/50/75% presets.
- Pick an output format; JPEG and WebP expose a quality slider, PNG stays lossless.
- Check the output size estimate and click Download to save the result.
Image Resizer FAQ
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing happens on a canvas element inside your browser. The file never leaves your device, which makes it safe for confidential screenshots.
Which format should I choose?
WebP usually gives the smallest files at good quality, JPEG is the safe universal choice for photos, and PNG is best for screenshots with text, transparency or sharp edges.
Why does converting PNG to JPEG add a white background?
JPEG has no transparency channel, so transparent pixels are composited onto white to avoid black boxes. Keep PNG if you need to preserve transparency.
How large can my image be?
It is limited by available memory rather than a fixed rule. Most photos up to several thousand pixels process fine; very large RAW-style files may be slow.
