About the Palindrome Checker
Check instantly whether a word, phrase or sentence is a palindrome. The checker strips punctuation, spaces and accents, lowercases everything, and compares the remaining letters and digits against their reverse, so A man, a plan, a canal: Panama passes correctly. The normalized text is shown so you can see exactly what was compared.
How to use the Palindrome Checker
- Type a word or phrase into the input field.
- Look at the green or red banner for the verdict.
- Inspect the Normalized box to see the stripped-down letters and digits that were compared.
- Try classics like Never odd or even to see accent and punctuation handling in action.
Palindrome Checker FAQ
Are accents and punctuation ignored?
Yes. Accented characters are transliterated, then everything except letters and digits is removed and case is folded, so รฉ and E both reduce to e before the comparison.
Does it work on single words?
Absolutely โ radar, level and kayak all pass, and the checker handles numbers too since digits count as characters.
Why does my phrase fail?
After normalization the letters must read identically forwards and backwards. A single mismatched letter anywhere breaks the palindrome, and the Normalized output lets you spot exactly where.
