URL Encoder
Percent-encode/decode URLs and query components.
โโComponent mode is for query params and fragments; full-URI mode preserves URL structure characters.
About the URL Encoder
Percent-encode or decode URLs and query parameters with two scopes. Component mode escapes everything reserved including ? & = and /, which is what you want for query values, while full-URI mode keeps structural characters intact for whole links. Both encoded and decoded results appear as you type.
How to use the URL Encoder
- Pick a scope: Component for query values and fragments, or Full URI for complete links.
- Paste the text or URL into the editor.
- Copy the Encoded output, or paste encoded text to read the Decoded result.
- Switch modes if special characters are being escaped too aggressively or not enough.
URL Encoder FAQ
What is the difference between the two modes?
Component mode percent-encodes every reserved character, making text safe inside a single parameter, while full-URI mode preserves : / ? # & so an entire URL stays functional.
How are plus signs handled?
When decoding, plus characters are first converted to %20 so they decode as spaces, matching HTML form behavior.
Why does decoding show a warning?
Malformed percent-sequences, like a stray % followed by non-hexadecimal characters, cannot be decoded and the tool says so instead of producing garbage.
